The Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc. non profit environmental charity celebrates WintercityYXE - Saskatoon's Winter Strategy and thanks the City of Saskatoon for approving the Winter Animation Fund . As recipients of the "Take It Outside" Grant, the Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc. announce their programming to enhance being "Outside Safely."  The Take It Outside Grant Program was created in 2020 to support organizations hosting COVID-19 safe outdoor activities. To enhance being " Outside Safely ," the Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc. (Friends) will promote and recommend safe outdoor activity along the 326-acre Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area (RSBBAA) Winter Trail Network.   We had some fantastic comments and input from our first input to the introduction of Our Forest Returns Saskatoon! We didn’t start from the beginning, that’s for sure. We started over on our YouTube video , indeed. There is illegal trash dumping, and illegal trespass going on, so the Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc is an environmental charity seeking environmental protections in the form of motorized vehicle barriers and park identification signs to alleviate problems, and preserve the environment as first steps. This concept was developed at a community meeting held at City Hall with input from a varied segment of the area, and many stakeholders came out.   The Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and George Genereux Urban Regional Park are two afforestation areas  located in Saskatoon, SK.  Map This website was started by the administrators, who were first named as the stakeholders and stewards for the Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area during the first undertakings.  The users of the afforestation areas have assembled together for greenspace cleanups, and to protect the afforestation area with various initiatives.  George Genereux Urban Regional Park is zoned industrial/park and is owned by land branch, the City of Saskatoon department in charge of buying and selling land.  Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area is zoned residential/park and is owned by land branch, the City of Saskatoon department in charge of buying and selling land.   As such, they do not belong to parks department.  There is no money for maintenance or upkeep except for the small area inside t...
