🚨🐾 Community Alert – Help Protect Our Off-Leash Recreation Area! 🐾🚨

Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and the South West Off-Leash Recreation Area are beloved places where walkers, cyclists, and dog-lovers enjoy exercise, fresh air, and nature. 🌿🚴‍♀️🐢

But recently, multiple cuts have been found in the perimeter fencing—even though there are already two excellent gates. In the short time it took to map the damage with GPS, three dogs escaped through the openings. πŸ˜ŸπŸ•πŸ’¨

With the CN Chappell Yards nearby, this is extremely dangerous. Dogs risk getting injured by trains, becoming lost in cold weather, or wandering far from home. πŸš‚❄️

Fence vandalism isn’t just frustrating—it’s a serious safety issue and violates City Bylaw 8175 and Saskatchewan’s Line Fence Act.

πŸ‘€ Be the “eyes on the park.”

If you see someone damaging the fence, stay safe—but if possible, take a photo and report it. πŸ“Έ⚠️

πŸ“ž Report vandalism or disrepair:

City of Saskatoon Bylaw Compliance: 306-657-8766

Or use the City’s online reporting form.

Let’s look out for each other—and for the pets who depend on us. πŸ’šπŸΎ

Let’s keep our greenspace safe, welcoming, and secure.
